OUTCOME 5: Children Are Effective Communicators
First language is important for children’s identity, well being, communication and learning. Children’s spoken language as well as their gestures and actions, is the development of basic literacy and numeracy concepts. They express ideas verbally and use a wide range of media, and they begin to explore the written language by scribbling, drawing and imaginary experiences.

- Create and present performing and visual art works
- Plan art works that communicate ideas, concepts, observations and feelings and experiences
- make choices about expressive ways of using arts elements and /or conventions
Activities:
- They can draw the world map- countries
- Make their own flag using simple materials
Children are able to express their ideas using a variety of materials that represents their country, such as the following activities above. Teachers are able to create fun, open- ended activities where they are able to make choices of what materials they want to create their own flag, country, item etc.
- Include singing, drawing, drama
- Cultural day, Arts Exhibition
Teachers are able to create events for parents and children showcasing the different things their child had achieved. This includes art works, performances etc, and parents can observe the different kind of materials their child used. Children are encouraged to sing together, so that they are able to collaborate and interact with other children and see the commonalities or differences among each other.
